| "Let sleeping corpses lie, save your mourning for the living." |

I can't remember the last time I seriously updated any sort of journal, online or otherwise.
Most of the things I find interesting enough to talk to people about aren't really important at all, I guess, so there is no point in talking about them, let alone writing them down.
I really like it when you are listening to a song you've heard over and over and then just having it click. Sometimes you'll actually already know what the song is about, but it's not the same as having it click.
I can't play any instruments, especially the piano. |

Scenario: A package arrives for you in the mail. Inside it, a pair of shoes. The shoes have an MP3 player in them that loudly plays a song whenever you walk. You will never be able to wear another pair of shoes again. What song do you pick? |

I had this train of thought about David Bowie that I liked enough to make an LJ entry about it.
Regarding the song "Ziggy Stardust" off of "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust".
"Ziggy played guitar" is the best thing Bowie ever wrote.
I really like the way that he starts the song by saying that, and then lets that linger and sink in for just a second before going on, and then ends it with that thought once again.
The album is about the rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust, of course. But with that line it is like Bowie is saying that no matter what the person is like, it's just his music we will be left with. |

| A Time for Everything |
[Jun. 14th, 2007|11:41 am] |
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

If I were an astronaut I'd want a green space suit and a dinosaur helmet. So it would like a dinosaur with his mouth open, and then inside the mouth would be my head.
Shit, yeah. That'd be sweet. |
